What you see here is an anti-ulnar deviated wrist into and through impact. Resisting such action can lead to an 'around' swing.

Is the deviation of the bottom wrist an action or a result? It seems that pulling on the handle by the bottom hand - perpendicular to the centerline of the bat - assists in release, and wrist deviation is a result. Of course, I could be wrong.
