Go Pound Nails
A tool to identify striking the ball.
Top hand controlling barrel to the ball.
Activates connection of wrist in our motion.
Hand eye coordination.
Muscle strengthening.
This may bring up the topic of how people grip the bat and what is happening with that bat in different gripping positions.
2 of them being-
1. Holding bat across the palm/fingers.
(like a hand shake - how i am gripping the hammer)
2. Holding bat at 90°
(some call this square knuckles - how i am holding the screwdriver)
1.
2.
1.Apon striking the ball.
2. Apon striking the ball
We can see that how we grip the bat can change the angle of the bat apon approach to striking the ball.
Obviously there are different mechanical approaches to hitting.
Find this particular technical point to be important.
Because we can see the difference in alignment of where the barrel will be at contact.
(or... approach at contact)
TRY POUNDING NAILS!!
Feel the difference grip can make in comfortability, strength, accuracy and ultimatley getting the barrell to the ball in alignment with our hitting mechanics.
Myself hold the bat like i hold a hammer.
Like the barrel as an extension of my pointing finger.
Some people hold square knuckles and strike with same 90° angle at contact and dont flucuate wrist much at all.
Others start square knuckle and the grip shifts in swing to the across the hand position
( like the hammer at striking)
Pounding nails helps identify whats really going on!
ENJOY!
