Interesting how times and opinions change. Last week while searching for something else I came across this old blog post. It dates back to May of 2008, and in it while I don’t outright oppose face masks I don’t exactly come across as supporting them either.* I have definitely changed my tune on that score, […]

Opinions are definitely changing as we see more and more girls wearing a mask ad it has become much more common place. A couple of observations:
1). I've also seen several local D1 commits quit wearing a mask only to go back to it after a close call.
2). Missouri 2nd baseman is wearing a mask. High level top 15 SEC school.
3). We all notice the Florida pitcher wearing a mask, but fail to notice/comment on the coaches helmets being used while coaching 3rd base!

Personally I am happy to see the face masks being seen more and more at high level programs.

Utah has a pitcher with a face mask.
My 14U daughter doesn't enter the circle without one.

Just behind home plate
After reading this article and seeing some of the video I've seen… if I were still pitching… and chances are I still could if called upon… I'd be wearing a mask. I'm seeing the value of spending 30 or 40 dollars now to save a face or orthodontic work than it would be to try to fix it.
