Catcher/batting helmet padding replacement

I am looking for new padding for a catching helmet. We've had the helmet painted and want to use it another year. Where is a good place to order new padding? Should I just contact the helmet manufacturer?

Contact the manufacturer, but I'd imagine most will tell you they don't sell new padding. The padding is intended to be permanent and last the lifetime of the helmet, and removing/replacing it will probably void the warranty. It may not reduce the efficacy of the helmet, but I'd wager that that will be the reason they won't sell it to you.

Your best bet would probably be to find some appropriate-sized foam padding and cut the pieces yourself. Again, though, who knows if this will reduce the helmet's ability to absorb an impact. If I were you, I'd put the painted helmet on a display shelf and get a new one.
