We took the weekend off before a stretch of four tournaments in a row. Didn’t have a great showing hitting at practice yesterday so we did some tee work tonight. I’ve been trying to get her leaning over the plate more as she’s swinging without much success

Back leg is weighted. Hips load, shoulders load , hands load. Stay straight. or whatever your cue is for her. Her posture looks ok in your latest clip.

I would say work on a flatter lower back in set up. But not until she’s ready. it will help with side bend and getting to lower pitches. Instead of using just the arms/hands. Discard my comments for now until she needs it or has mastered what you’ve already taught her.

I guess there would be 3 things that stick out to me. Not trying to nitpik anything in between or sequence or anything like that, just items i think leak or create issues.

(first post DD, second post Altuve for comparison)

1. Hands start high and drop at the start of the forward move. Not sure this is a terrible issue as she holds that handset thru toe touch, just may not be as high as you would like to create a better swing plane for down to and thru.
2. There is no front side resistance after front foot plant. He head and body continue to move forward. This makes the whole complex move together. Holding the front side and creating a better posture and angle will help her create the down and thru swing plane.
3. Pinned rear elbow slot creating a spinning release across the body. I have felt this was one of the big things my DD was missing and we worked on a drill with the top hand inverted and with an open palm that helped keep the hands high and create release and extension. I had it in another post. Maybe i can relink here if it will help.

High hands. front foot before any movement.

front leg lifted hands move down from top of head. Not sure if a specific issue, just not what Altuve does, he keeps them relatively high.

but from the initial drop the hands stay steady thru to toe touch

toe touch and heel strike happen simultaneously with your DD. Altuve toe touches then a couple frames later heel strike. Heel strike for him initiates swing launch.

2nd item is no front side resistance during swing, the body and head move forward thru the swing. See head relative to tree trunk in back of photo.

3rd item in my opinion is a pinned right elbow. Which shows me a 'gate' swing. pins the elbow and spins around the body. Though i dont see her upper half spinning much more after contact, there isn't any amount of 'release' or 'extension'. (Miggy is a good reference for this.) Your DD's release doesn't really happen and when it does it is pointing left towards SS or 3rd base.

Altuve by comparison.

1. high hands to launch.
2. limited head and body movement after heel strike
3. release and extension out and thru the zone.

high hands at start of forward move
Screen Shot 2021-04-22 at 10.06.27 AM.png
keeping hands high right before toe touch.
Screen Shot 2021-04-22 at 10.06.46 AM.png
initial toe touch hands still there
Screen Shot 2021-04-22 at 10.07.04 AM.png
initiation of launch, hands in basically the same position. He is now leveraged to swing.
No head movement from here to the end of the swing.
Screen Shot 2021-04-22 at 10.07.43 AM.png
rear elbow slot - first time his elbow gets close to side. head still. no forward move of the belly. just a rotating torso
Screen Shot 2021-04-22 at 10.08.36 AM.png
should have given another photo, but he shows continuous movement of rear elbow thru the swing to contact, it never stops on his side.
Screen Shot 2021-04-22 at 10.08.58 AM.png
then releases straight thru out to where the ball travelled.

I suppose my opinion would be to work on keeping hands high until swing launch. get into a better athletic position like W=W said with flatter back creating a better starting posture. Land into a firm front side allowing the head to stay farther back over backside.

My opinion is that the swing is a ballistic launch getting the barrel out to the location of the pitch, then the brakes go on and the hands release to the pitch. If the body continues to 'swing' you get spinny. The release and extension phase of the swing is what actually pulls the body thru. But all the initial force should be aimed at the pitch location and the brakes applied to allow the whip and release.

again, all just my 2 cents with things that have helped my DD. good luck

Here is the post with the inverted top hand drill.
