DD is a 16U 5'11"+ player and using a 33/23 now and bat seems a little short for her. Especially when trying to hit that outside pitch. Was going to try a 34/24 but bat supplier tells me that 34/24 is not very common. Are we wrong in thinking she needs a 34/24?

Don't know who your bat supplier is, but 34/24 and 34/25 are quite common for tall and/or very strong players (for the drop 9). My dd swings 34/25 LXT but she is 5'8" tall and very strong/athletic. She has been swinging this since her freshman year (she is a junior now).

Don't think you are wrong, and if she is very strong, she might do well with 34/25.

Clearly, you're talking to the wrong bat supplier. ;)

PM CoreSoftball20. He's the RIGHT bat supplier...for many reasons.

Thanks for the feedback. I would not say she is overly strong, just 150 lbs. but is starting to fill out more now and is athletic. The 33" just looks small on her. I will check with other bat suppliers including CoreSoftball20.

Thanks

DD is pretty tall (6' 3") and was a decent hitter in HS and travel ball. She was using a 34/24 and I figured with her size a 34/25 would give her more power. For her it had the opposite effect and I learned that tall doesn't necessarily mean they should use the biggest, heaviest bat you can find.

My DD swings a 34/24 and loves it! There are lot of them available, so I think you need a new bat supplier....I suggest sending Coresoftball20 a PM

Since when is 6'3" "pretty tall" for a female??? That would be "pretty tall" for a male in my neck of the woods! They must be putting something in the water in Minnesota...
