I was just reading Science of Hitting again yesterday. Ted Williams said he preferred "ultra light" (in comparison) bats. The names and bat weights he threw out were all over the place from his light weight to some 50+ oz bats. I think it should be determined by individual preference. I would say stick with what she has and if it seems to be swinging slow against pitching, look for something lighter. My dd swung and loved her rain light 30/18 for both 10u years. Now she will swing a 28 oz bat nicely for a couple dozen soft tosses in bp, but both game bats, a rocketech and a xeno are 21 oz. She likes to feel, in her words, "super fast" swings.
