My players love the Demarini Insane, but many are using the Worth 454 as Boulderdad's dd now uses.

DD's college team is getting in some new bats. The team and dd are not happy with the new Easton. Doesn't seem to have the pop. Of course that could be because they are not broken in. So, some options are Miken Triad 3 and the Demarini and Demarini Insanity. Any opinions out there on these? DD is power hitter and not a small girl.

As far as the Eastons go, they need more break in time from our experience...but the barrel is the exact same barrel as last years models and the one piece is the exact same bat with different paint job. We've noticed the newer bats were showing up more later in the season when watching the college teams. DD's hitting coach thinks it's the best bat out there and their college team uses them. One of DD's HS teammates who had never hit a home run before, hit two out of the park her first game using a brand new Easton. That being said, the Demarini's are probably the hottest out of the wrapper. I've heard the Triad was pretty hot also, but the Rev-x and Worth one piece models would need a bit more break in time before getting really hot.

Easton is a bat we won't test and if you follow the Olympic games you would notice what the entire softball team did with any Easton products at the end of the game! Hard for many of us to forget that vote!

Caveat Emptor -- a few of the Worth 454 models already have strikes against them on the most recent NCAA Bat Testing/Approved list

454 has a ton of pop.. durability is a factor though....dd on the avg goes thru at least one a year. Last season one broke in half

But she gets them for free!!!!! Plus anyone that can use a bat axe and split a ball in two pieces will break a few bats!!!

They have great pop! Did anyone notice that it's going to be two Worth 454-equipped teams battling it out for the WCWS championship? Just sayin... :-D
