Second guessing myself big time today. Feel that I really screwed up. DD's first tournament since nationals was this weekend, a college showcase in Des Moines. Drove thru a hail storm and very scary weather to get there. Could tell she wasn't feeling well on the drive but thought it was just nerves due to the weather. Shoud have known better because my DW and two boys had recently been ill with a stomach bug. Anyway, shortly after our arrival she started throwing up.
Kept her out of the saturday morning game, but she wanted to play in the afternoon. Played three games on saturday and 4 on Sunday. She didn't get sick again either day but she was way too nauseated all weekend to eat or drink. Just couldn't force anything down although she did have three or four bites of a sandwich Sunday afternoon. After the last game, she threw up several more times.
Now i'm worried sick about all the high fives (her teammates hit several homers) and potential exposure to her teammates. Do you allow your DD to play when sick? What's the protocol? Would you have allowed your DD to play? Should i apologize to the other parents?? Second guessing myself. Don't think I won "father of the year" this weekend.
