My dd was diagnosed with celiac last year. I know your dd is small that is common in kids with Celiac as they do not use the nutrients as well. My dd would out eat me and her brother and she was 105 pounds less then a year after diagnose she feel as better and weighs 130+.

THIS^^^^ At least insist the doctor do a blood test for it. My oldest daughter has it and is one of the main causes of digestive issues. It also runs with Allergies like Amy said. My oldest daughter is allergic to everything. Most doctors right it off as Irritable Bowl Syndrome (IBS), so you must INSIST on the test. Good Luck and I hope you find the cause.

Oh and Bald...they did say in the movie, that the docters that have accepted this have had good success with changing diet.

And funny to me...I think and question if people think I am radical talking about it, when it is pretty much taken as fact in Europe and many other parts of the world where gmos are banned.
Thanks Redhot. As a result of my DW's success, we have been experimenting with the Paleo /cave man approach. Avoiding processed foods (canned or prepackaged) and eating meat and fresh vegetables and fruits. The cliche for this is shopping the edges of the grocery store and avoiding the much of what is in the aisles. We both grew up in homes where our families raised gardens, pork, and beef, so going back to a more "rustic" has not been that difficult. Not everyone though has the opportunity to grow some of their own food.
Now I am not a complete convert, because I will enjoy some pasta, or bread occasionally. But my intake of these has decreased significantly.
Since August I have lost 22 pounds, and just feel better. My bad knees have improved to the point that I can get down in a catcher's squat.
Sorry, I did not mean to hijack this thread !

For a few weeks my wife was telling me I need to watch this film. I really didn't feel like it, but last Wednesday she said it is the last day to watch it online for free. So I did, and then watched it again...it was very interesting. A very basic summary of it is that U.S. company(s) started genentically motifying crops and vegetables by taking the gene (or something) that is in round up that explodes insects digestive systems and putting it in the crops and basically our food supply. They say they have studies that show it is harmless to humans...the other side says that independent studies say otherwise.
The theory is that the insect killer in crop does the same thing in human digestive system though on a smaller over time basis. It creates "leaky gut". So when a person with leaky gut eats certain foods, the food does not get fully digested like it should before it leaks into the blood stream. The bodies first defense to the undigested food in the blood stream is send a rush of antibodies/histamine...an allergic reaction...and theoretically a host of other problems new to mankind.

I don't mean to be radical...but it really has me thinking about it. The first gmos started late 1980s, so it has alot of people saying hmm. I know growing up in the 70s and 80s if you said someone had a food allergy I would have thought you were joking. Autism...I wouldnt have a clue what you were talking about....
I have said before that my son has adhd, my wife (and I) have been having good results with him going gluten free...actually pretty amazing results. So last Wednesday I watched this show, and Wednesday night we went out for a special dinner and we let him have lomein noodles. Within half an hour...he was having tics...outburst...and about crawling out of his skin. Plus he had always had "chronic sinus congestion" but has had no trouble since going gluten free. Wednesday night and Thursday he was completely congested.

Sorry to ramble on, just had to share.
Here is the movie link, but I don't think you can watch for free anymore.
Genetic Roulette MovieGenetic Roulette | The Gamble of Our Lives

Your in the Park!!! Latest shocker to us Holistic folks was that Garlic does alot of good, but that it has an bad effect on the digestive system... You might be thinking this thru, after embedding that movie, that you could be told it is garlic... and you probably already know that it is the prime insecticide for organic foods, and respells vampires...

There are some good on-line home school programs for HS students, if she should need that. I wish you the best, in chasing down the root of her problem.

Regardless of what the test results are, I would try out a month of a gluten-free diet with her anyway—it's not something you need a doctor to recommend. From personal experience, I know sometimes the initial test results can get skewed if the irritation is bad enough. A month goes by quickly, and you really can't lose; the worst thing that could happen to her is she eats healthier, and the best thing is she feels a lot better.

My whole family has gone well semi vegan (we avoid as best we can meat and dairy, except pizza!), dw and ds are also gluten free (bald, costco has a quinoa pasta that is awesome!). My sons adhd has greatly improved, oldest dd has been completely off her daily allergy and asthma meds for 8 months, I have lost 20 lbs since changing in October, and dw pointed out to me none of us have been to Dr. for an illness since last April.

PC people have asked me, that knew me as beer and burger guy (like everyday), how I don't eat meat or drink beer. I don't know! After the first week, a beer or any alcohol just doesn't sound good to me anymore. I don't know it there is science behind it, but that daily, I need a beer after work feeling, is just goneu! Dozens of times I stopped drinking for different reasons, never lasted more then a few weeks, now I have had 2 beers since October and they weren't that good. Now I drink just water or organic tea and coffee...no soda.

Great!!! Soda, and Sports drink was what I was looking for... The beer is just Candida (fungus) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia yeast addiction. We are hooked on feeding it, with alot of other things besides and including beer.

Water and Oil... these are the two things that we really need to take charge of. I would love to see you get in to the pursuit of the procurement of pure water. It has turned out to be one of my biggest challenges in life. I looking into distilled, left to set in sun in glass containers for 3days, then restructuring it to meet my needs, salt, iodine, and lots of yeast killers... :{))

Oil is almost as hard, because of the social nature of eating... everyone gets to vote. Its all Coconut Oil for me!!!

Quincy, wishing you and your DD the best and a speedy diagnosis. One of my DD's went through a tough period a few years ago with symptoms that the ended up having her tested her for many of the above mentioned conditions and many more. She was bounced around from specialist to specialist and missed much school with ER visits, lengthy and numerous invasive tests and just pain that she couldn't attend school to the point where there was a concern she would have to repeat the school year. Finally after what seemed like an eternity (many months) a test for something else lead one of the doctors on a new path - finally a diagnosis and surgery.
Keep at it with the Doctors and Insurance Company!
