You're kidding right......you think these 2 swings are a match?
Look at the 'belts'.....

There's allot of things I don't like in the kids swing, dragging the back foot to much if he does that on every swing. Gets to far over the front leg, to much head movement. Lead arm to far down at contact, lead elbow should be up into shoulder plane.

We can pick it apart.

it's a BP swing and a very good one. The only youth eite swing I've ever seen posted.
Then, I'm guessing we might agree that this is not an 'elite youth swing'.

First pause is the launch position, very few young hitters achieve a good launch position.

Second pause is the hips open and shoulders closed.

I is not a terrible swing, some issues but they could be fixed rather easily. Get into the back leg more in the load and ride the back side until toe touch. Also keep up the back elbow longer and have the front elbow work up a little more to get a better swing plane, keep some more elbow spacing.

It is a good swing. I am not going to get into the argument whether it is/was elite or not..doesn't really matter.
How old was he in this clip?

Not elite, but I have seen much worse. Others have made some good points; belt, elbows, etc. That said, I seriously doubt he will be facing Scherzer or Kluber anytime soon. The real question is how does he hit against the best pitchers at his level? If the results are there, he must be doing something right.

I had that talk with a player and her parents last summer. Young lady was thrilled because she hit .350 during her high school season. When I analyzed her stats more, I realized that she batted over .500 against below average pitchers. But against above average pitchers she was closer to .200. And against the best two pitchers in the area, she was .111. As travel ball started, she fell into a slump. The truth is, the pitchers we were facing in travel ball would have been well above average when compared to the high school pitchers she was facing. The slump was predictable, in my opinion. When she finally realized what needed to be done, she started to improve.
