Just wanted to see what kind of feedback we can get. I am no expert by any means and would love to hear what you guys have to say about her mechanics. She currently is the starting catcher for her middle school team and does a great job defensively however most of her at bats result in easyout grounders to the right side. any thoughts? critique welcome and sorry for the poor video quality

Not here.
Sorry....but read and study.
she has always been taught "knob to the ball".
May be get another hitting instructor that understands the 'proper' hitting sequence because 'knob to the ball' isn't going to do it.

I am curious if you have any game footage of her swing? I am not asking you to post it, just for you to review on your own. Compare her point of contact with the point of contact on the tee swings. Is she contacting the ball out in front as far as she is during the tee swings?

thanks for the reply! she has a game tomorrow i will try to get some footage. she does seem to be late on alot of pitches. i was hoping to get some other eyes on her swing to see if there was something obvious that stood out to anyone. I was hoping you guys could help a dad help his dd. any input would be much appreciated!

I agree with this. Looking at the video bass posted, this tee swing looks like it's headed to 3rd on the ground. Hopefully some of the experts will chime in.

When you get the video watch specifically for the point of contact. My guess is that you will find that she is contacting the ball deeper than the tee swing and that is why the ball is going to second base. It does appear that she has a "knob to ball" swing approach. Some people like that and are successful with it. Personally I am not a fan. In my opinion hitting is similar to throwing. We are attempting to throw the barrel through the ball. Like with any throw there is a "release" into contact. In a "knob to the ball" approach that release is altered because of how the hands are manipulating the handle. Just my opinion...

Sometimes hitters who are consistently late need a change in mental approach. If she is waiting to evaluate the pitch location before starting her swing process, she is going to struggle more and more as pitching gets faster. A hitter should be expecting that EVERY pitch will be one to hit, and needs to start the swing process on EVERY pitch. Only when the pitch has been identified as out of the zone, should the swing process be stopped.

Here's a great demonstration...
