Eric,

The clip is at 60 fps. Notice the hands stay back a little longer for Molitor, like you said Maddie brings the hands forward a little sooner.

This seems like an odd question but do you think that this swing style would be more indicative of a single hitter or what we would have called in the old days "shortening your swing"

Disregard what I said earlier about the swing needing to be quicker. Now that I know it's a 60 fps swing, her and Molitor have a 8 frames swing, which translates into 4 frame swing at 30 fps. It might not be a 4 frame swing, but it's very close.

I think Molitor's back heel comes up sooner. He might be rotating into foot plant sooner. I think both have a good change of direction. You can see that at the speed I'm showing very well. Both walk away from the hands.

It might not seem like much but look at the tip of the bat Maddie's is truly stationary and walked away from and more straight. While Molitors is angled and ever so slightly moves forward. I think this is something I'm noticing more and more from elite hitter just as or sometime even after foot comes down they are reaching back with their hands in this instance causing bat tip forward, of course that now means a longer distance to travel increase speed and whip. For players that leak forward I have sometimes suggested a stop gap measure of doing what Maddie is doing hold stationary versus leak forward so the good news is there is no leak on the other hand this leaves room for improvement but again as I have been mentioning I think in her case it's going back to something she was doing before but just lost while focusing on other aspects of the swing.
