This is not meant to be serious but to poke fun of some observations about guest playing for a few teams that dd played with. Most teams were not like this.
Rule #1-the most important one as a parent:Lie.
For example:if dd been clocked pitching at 54-55...you add 5 mph onto that number. So that means she is a 59-60 mph pitcher. Don't worry, no one will question you because there are 3 other guest pitchers who all are 60 mph pitchers.
Disclaimer:If you do tell the truth, expect your dd not to even be considered for a pitching position on team. That is the next point:Versatile player
If your daughter only plays one position, tell them she plays it all. In fact, she is so good, she can pitch to herself and throw the runner out at 2nd. Because if she isn't versatile, she will be riding the bench since the team has 17 other players with 9 of them being guest players. If you want to be a little more honest, ask the coaches about their daughters. Then you can narrow down the positions your dd plays.
Batting stats:
I have been pretty honest about these. For some reason, dd always hit better when guest playing. So for, guest playing purposes...dd is a power hitter.
Observation notes:
If you see guest players dad in the dugout with the coaches...run and run fast. It doesn't matter if said dad is also a coach. This is not his normal team. This has always seemed to be parent of guest pitcher. If your dd is also guest pitcher, guess where she won't be playing? This is where the versatile player role comes into effect(just as long as it is not the coaches daughter spot...but since you already know where she plays, you will be fine).
So now, all other guest pitchers are sitting the bench except for your dd and the new assistant coach for the day dd(who will be pitching the entire tournament).
Get some popcorn because it will get entertaining. There will always be 1 parent who will get highly upset and cause a scene because her daughter will be a guest player who will be sitting the bench for entire tournament.
