    BATS testing

Pennsbury is coming up again. I was wondering if anyone had anthing to add about BATS testing. Looks like at the Pennsbury showcacse they include some of the BATS testing elements, then for an additional $29 you can opt for the full battery of tests. Do coaches pay atttention to these...

    Get the top hand through.

Baseball Video Highlights & Clips | Albert Pujols and Harold Reynolds on hitting approach - Video | MLB.com: Multimedia I've watched this demo too. I was shocked that he doesn't seem to really know the angles he creates with his bat and body in his "real" swing. He's not even close in this demo.

    DD needs a new glove

I got my daughters the REAKTR from xprotex. Girls REAKTR Depending on her size, it may only cost $10.00. We did have an issue with the seam on one glove, but their customer service was great and took care of the issue and sent us a new one no hassles.

    Xprotex Gloves

We got the REAKTR for my daughter. The glove was bad right out of the package. Like you said...along the thumb seam. All they asked for was a picture of the defective glove and they shipped me a new one, no charge. So far the new one has been fine. My older daughter has the same glove and...

Elite Travel Team and Elite Travel Price

Thanks for the responses. We're going to tryouts for at least 3 different teams. Each of them seem to be very competitive and each have excellent 16u teams too. This may be where she ends up. Which I'm fine with. I want her to get playing time at a more competitive level. Last night they had...

Elite Travel Team and Elite Travel Price

She will be a Freshman this year. She hasn't really made any decisions regarding what colleges she'd like to attend. From what I've heard, this s a very competitive team. Here is their fall schedule. October 2 & 3 Bluechip Showcase, NJ October 8-10 TCS Rising Stars, NJ October 16 & 17...

Elite Travel Team and Elite Travel Price

My daughter is interested in trying out for a local "Elite" travel team. Her goal is to play softball in college. Her past team had a fee of around $500. I'm told to expect to pay twice that (if not more) if she's accepted to an elite team. (Tavel & hotel costs not included.) My question...

    "Hands" terminology

Thanks for all the feedback. I was kind of saying that tongue and cheek when I said pick “a” camp. Though there are some who don’t seem willing to cross party lines. I tend to get a little black and white and expect everything to fit in a nice tidy box. You all made it clear that this is...

    "Hands" terminology

I think my problem is I haven’t picked a camp yet. I read what’s posted here, I read Steve Englishbey’s board, Jack Mankin’s board I have seen the Candrea videos. There are some subtle and some not so subtle differences in all of them. It’s surprising to see how many different views there are...

    "Hands" terminology

I’m hoping I can get some clarification regarding some terminology. “Getting the Hands Flat” I've seen this used on this board. I understand palm up palm down. Is that related to getting the hands flat? “Live and independent hands” Not sure where I picked this up. Possiblly Candrea? At what...

Practice hitting curves drops and screw balls

This is great. I haven't come across this before. I'm guessing when setting up the camera, the best position would be on the opposite side of the plate? Not directly behind or in front.

    In my own words

Can you elaborate on the right and wrong ways? If the hands act as the pivot point, wouldn't that just leave the wrists and or centrifugal force to get the bat head moving?

    In my own words

JC, thanks. I hadn't been to O'Leary's site before. This comment had me a little taken back: "I think the whole linear vs. rotational thing is largely overblown and mostly irrelevant. I think the real, and more relevant, debate is between connection vs. extension rather than linear vs...

Thanks Tewks. I guess I was thinking if the angle of either elbow changed it would mean the hands were where headed towards the extended position too early. You worded it much better. Thanks for the input.

    In my own words

I’ve been trying to educate myself on this and other sites about rotational hitting. I think the hardest thing for me to grasp was the circular hand path aspect. From that statement you know I was taught “hands straight to the ball”. My girls love this sport and I owe it to them to stop the...
