    Batting Cage balls hurts bats?

    We hit in cages all the time with composite bats and never broken one. If the bat is old and the composite is broken down, there might be more of an issue. Most of the cages we hit at the balls are softer than regular softballs. Just be sure to rotate the bat, you will be fine.

    to answer your question, I would say pitching when PU signals ready is fair game. Up to batter to ask for time or a "verbal" to announce she is ready.

    With family schedules I could see maybe 15 or so on roster for a travel team. 17 does seem a bit extreme in most cases.

    A scary reminder

    Those are ok masks but I prefer the full helmet in case of a turned head. Like a lacrosse helmet or hockey mask. Sports Field Equipment at SportsAdvantage.com - Product: AirTech® Hockey-Style Catcher's Helmet Pro-Plus Something like that. Just a little more protection.

    Choking up, along with shorter stride will help make more consistent contact. Also might want to try the Split Grip.
