    yah i have that book. very good. at 8 batting is largely a matter of grip it and rip it. give em a million hacks at a skillz stick and the swing will come. I think the worst thing they do at this age is set up a stance out of whack.

    Hard slides might be an idea - even into first. Also, once a girl is on - having her run with a handful of dirt that she hurls as she approaches the next base hollering "look out for this handful of dirt!" will certainly have some kind of effect - precisely what, however, remains untested.

    the trick with that is to have her hold the rubber between her feet and just hop forward a few inches at a time when a play is going on in the field and no one is watching her. When I played nose tackel I used to move the football back like that during the other team's huddle all the time.
