The reason I am asking is we got our hands on a Miken Freak Black. I was wondering how this bat compares to the current bats on the market?

Miken Freak is no joke. Any top bat last 10 yrs will have very similar performance. Freak black’s are pretty hard to find. That tells me people that have them hold on to them.

As good as any out there. Mikens were underrated fastpitch bats. IMHO of course

I am not sure of the difference but I still have my original Freak from my modified days. That bat was Bad rear. The only thing hotter at the time was the Miken Ultra II. Which was the predecessor to the Freak.

After it was outlawed, I picked up the Miken Recoil. It was not as good. Then around 2012 or so bat rules changed and the next set of bats were not even close. I'd be interested if Core has any info on performance comparisons.

I had an original freak, it was so hot, right before it broke, it should have been illegal.

The Rawlings Quatro was the successor to the MFB. I'm not sure how they performed side-by-side, though.

My DD had very good results with the 32" MFB, but never found her grove with a 33", and her attention was taken by a CF8, then the Ghost.

After DD MFB broke, we got her the Rawlings Quatro. She didn’t like it. She won’t even look at a Ghost. She does like the Xeno.

My DD had an unwrapped 34" Freak Black in her room for a couple years. She thought "34 is too much bat for me". She finally gave it a shot and hasn't swung anything else since. This was at the end of the last HS season here in MN. She's at a small DIII now.

So, it might just be the move to a 34" from 33". Or, it might be the bat. But she likes it better than her 33" ASA ghost. I think it's got a larger sweet spot, thus more forgiving.

Curious what’s your daughters issue with the Ghost? Ah yes the Xeno. Good choice consistent durable tough to beat. Everybody likes to claim the bat they swing is better than the Xeno. Wonder why that is. Maybe the Xeno is the standard all other bats are measured? Has she ever tried an LXT?
