Dumbest Thing a Parent Ever Said!!!

When DD played 10u travel they had a pitcher and an outfielder that were injured! The coach told them that since they were unable to participate they did not have to come to team practices, which they didn't. The pitcher was out for about a month so in the mean time the coach had a set of twins...

    throw back help?

I bought an adjustable one 5 years ago from Sports Authority on clearance for $20 for DDs 8u rec team.I figured for the price we would get our moneys worth if it lasted the season. Believe it or not it lasted until this spring! We used it 2 years in rec 1 in travel and DD used it at home the...

    Moved thread

Ok maybe it's just me but after looking at the video several times and looking at FiveFrames highlighted version I still fail to see the ball rise. It does end up high in the zone.

It doesn't appear to rise at all to me, it just looks like the pitch came in high.

    Continuation play

This was at 10u, and more times than not the catcher will throw the ball to try for the play at 2nd, if they don't it's a free base.I would always take any opprotunity to put runs on the board unless it was a blow out game. And yes we would trade an out for a run anytime, in a 4-5 inning game if...

    Continuation play

One play we used at 10u on the offensive side of this situation with less than 2 outs was to have the runner at 3rd get their normal lead on the pitch, batter/runner jog to 1st make the turn and jog to 2nd never changing speed. If the other team tryed for the out at 2nd the tag had to be...

Best way to start back pitching after a 2 year break.

I took DD to pitch yesterday, she didn't do to bad for not pitching in nearly 2 years. I would guess she was low to mid 40's on speed, accuraccy wasn't to bad, had a some that were really wild at first. A couple of things that she will need to correct are when she finishes her pitch she is not...

Best way to start back pitching after a 2 year break.

That's what I was thinking, ease her back to pitching. She does have time to get back into the swing of things, all be it only a couple of months though. The only problem is for now I'll have to catch her and with 2 years off I may be playing more dodge ball than catching and not be able to see...

Best way to start back pitching after a 2 year break.

My dd has been asked to pitch for her Jv team but has not pitched in nearly 2 years. The reason she stopped was that she had lost interest because she was getting zero mound time on a former team so she started catching and was the #1 catcher in very little time. When she stopped pitching she...

    A Flash Forward event???

From what I've learned in the past it's human nature to blink when contact is persieved. Try the no flinch drill with a catcher, they will blink just before the ball contact their helmet. 1999coach

    Walmart balls?

I was just trying to find a cheaper alternative, I'm kinda on a tight budget and $100 plus for a dozen balls is a little out of reach right now. Thanks

    Walmart balls?

I've looked at several Walmarts and other stores that carry sports/fitness equipment and have not been able to find the 1 pound balls, all I have been able to find are the 2 pound balls at Walmart in the fitness/exercise dept. Any ides where else to look? Thanks
