Vertical back = level shoulders = level swing = circular swing = hitting across the ball most of the time.

Look at the slow motion swing from the waist up.

Tilt from the waist up = tilted shoulders = shoulders and bat on same plane = releasing more underneath and straight through the ball.

Only pitch you are not tilted on is a rise ball.

Tilted all the way to impact like below, just like casey on her slow motion swing

Take a video of Laura from behind and post it.

Casey took this ball over the left field fence, it went out in a hurry. Very Fast pitcher in this game.

Best guy I know who teach's tilt is Steve Englishbey. He has a hitting website.

Thanks

Until you understand that stay tilted at the waist all the way through the swing, in my mind her swing will look the same now, as in the beginning, as it will probably look like in the future.
Not trying to be mean, just trying to tell you the importance of staying tilted all the way and staying tilted from the waist up.

I guess you could say, if it's too high to swing with a tilt, don't swing.

Yes, Even a pitch up in the zone should be, bat head - hands alittle higher than bat head, elbow alittle higher than hands

The problem is swinging at a waist high pitch with a vertical back and no tilt. Bat not in plane with shoulders.
Takes thousands a reps to burn in tilt.

We as my dd and I are still working on that.

Straightleg,
Stating the truth is not being mean.I posted video of my DD asking for comments and you commented.Teaching my daughter how to hit is an ongoing process.Pointing out what she needs to work on and where to look for help is very helpful to me.I will now focus my attention on learning how to explain to Laura how to stay tilted all the way through her swing.Again thanks for helping us.

Tilt: Try setting a ball on the tee high in the zone. Get in stance grab near both ends of the bat like its a barbell. Hold the barbell(bat) at your shoulders like its the down position of a bench press. Now bench press, arms straight out from shoulders to the ball (or directly at it, you will end the bench press a foot short. Now hold the same tilt at your waist, grab bat normally and slow mo swing to contact.
Now lower ball in the zone. Get bat back into bench press position, tilt at the waist until you can bench the bat, with arms coming directly 90 degrees from the body, directly toward the ball. Hold that waist tilt and slow mo swing to contact.
At contact the bat, shoulders, eyes, and eyebrows should all be at the same angle, tilting toward the ball.

Question wrt to the hand set .... from her launch position take note of where the knob is pointing towards ... would she be able to handle the low/inside pitch location with ease? If not ... then is this how you want the barrel loaded?

Question on the tee .... what is the purpose of the white rag on the tee?

DD would like the bat knob pointed at the catchers knee.I don't like the bat wrap she has in her swing.Seen this before in past swings. When I showed her and asked why she has the bat like this. She explains that she is trying to hit the ball hard. The white rag is there so DD keeps her head tilted down at the tee.Something to look at after ball leaves tee.Not working because she does not tilt her body, but swings level. We will continue to work on getting her to tilt her back shoulder down through out her swing. Thanks for the help.

The white rag could be in the tee and you keep your head where the ball used to be. The force of the swing will pull your head through.

Flat bat makes flat sound off ball
