Julray,

A pause in the hands is fine. You pause the lowerbody with the pause of the hands. You then weight shift and swing at the same time.

I’m in no way knocking your swing. Just talking hitting.🥎
Shawn I am looking for for feedback, I know my swing is flawed so all good. I find this interesting, we dads/coaches take information from this site and implement it in our kids swing. It’s easier said then done.
Keep it coming, again I don’t agree with everything you say, but I’m entertaining all ideas

Your hands are not synced to the middle. more shoulder/arm/hand driven than anything else. its Your load. Get the middle to move you. Or stretch the middle to move you.
I know, how often have we talked about this. Its actually kind of funny because when I look at the video after swinging it surprises me lol

Except for the front leg reach, the swing is not too bad.

Thanks goodness you don't actually swing down as you describe it. :)
Absolutely agree, the number 1 thing I focus on is sequence and posture… and I’m failing. I’m reaching forward with the front foot instead of shifting to a good launch position/FYB. The first time I looked the video I laughed my a$$ off because it’s exactly opposite of the sequence I talk about on here lol

In other words what you think you are doing and what you are actually doing is different  ..sorry couldn't help myself.

I was waiting for somebody to jump on that and that’s ok, I’m no pro after all lol

And you're never going to be with that type of attitude young man. 😜😂

But seriously. Remember the other day when we both agreed that given a task or goal (this one will be hitting a ball off a tee), that the body with self-organize itself to do so....if not short-circuited with some other mental cue that will derail it?

That said, for the next test, maybe try visualizing the swing that you want to make (pick your favorite pro's swing), then determine how and where you want to hit the ball (LD, FB, GB...), and see what your body does naturally to accomplish that.

Don't think about how you're going to stride, transfer/shift your weight, swing at the ball, follow through, or whatever..."just do, don't think" as I'll tell some of my hitters at times. You might be surprised what improvement(s) you'll see just by letting your body do what it wants to do, w/o trying to make it do what you've heard or read about on the internet.

Now one's going to expect you to automatically look like said pro you're trying to emulate, because that pro is one of the top 1/10th of 1% of the most baseball athletic persons on the planet (the math may be off, but you get the idea). So what their body tells them to do, they're much more able to organize, and do correctly...than we as the average human beings are able to do.

Keeping my own thoughts to myself, I'll let you guys pick it apart. Again, this thread is not about(or I'm hoping) one approach vs another. I am willing to try anything and post which hopefully will give us all some insight.

Cheers

In my opinion your hand path is too steep in these swings.

TBH Mudder, I wasn't saying the body will self organize, however I do agree the body being in position will help me or anybody achieve their goal. With that being said, the next couple cuts I take will be "thoughtless" :). I will be attempting to hit line drives because I don't want to get under one and put one through the neighbor's window LOL

So bad news, no baseball this season, just too many logistical obstacles for the league. It was a late start anyway.

However I will keep uploading my swings if any of you are interested. If not, I will continue my progress on my own instead of spamming this website. Here is my latest;

1st swing I just cleared my mind and thought about hitting a line drive, as per MB's suggestion

2nd swing, and this is my favorite so far from a pure effortless perspective. I focused on my body only @ launch. I didn't think about sequence or hands, I just thought about using my body to power and get behind and through the ball

Much better/smoother transition, and I can see why it felt more "effortless". Don't tell anyone, but you actually started your swing before your front heel was down on the ground and completely loaded. Some might call that "shift and swing", kind of like the Babe talks about...."My weight is my left foot, as I start swinging, my weight shifts to my right foot at the time of contact with the ball." 🤫😊

EDIT: Sorry to hear your season is already cancelled. I was going to buy Ibuprofen stock, but I guess I can cancel that order now. 😉😆
