What if the movements of the body have nothing to do with bat speed?
What if all the body does is align the swing plane to the ball?
A heavy bat only weighs 26oz in women's fast pitch. Grown men swing 26-30 oz bats in slow pitch and pro baseball. MOI aside.... Only a portion of the weight is in the barrel.
Why can't the arms/shoulders/lats/traps move that one pound weight all by themselves?
Let's take it to an extreme....a fly swatter doesn't require a whole body movement to smack that zippy little fly.
Some bats are drop 11 and 12... short little fly swatters themselves.
How much does a bat have to weight before we need to start cheating and using extra body movements to swing it?
