No one said anything about taking the "hips" out of the equation. Stop being dramatic lol..
I'm just trying to figure out how you guys are focusing on or doing something with the obliques...instead of them being used to assist the movement of something that IMO (agenda?) should be the primary mover or movement of things.

For those of you who believe that the swing is done, created, powered or whatever it is you've got going with the obliques, here's a quick tutorial about how the obliques can actually move the body....

So if y'all want to swing the bat with the movement(s) of the obliques (and arms), and take the hips out of the equation...that's fine by me. "To each their own" as they say...best of luck to ya (and your hitters). (y)
Or you couldn't posted this...

What did I say about TTB? Because I don't really teach it or talk about it as part of my instruction...other than how it relates to the barrel path.
Dude I quoted what you said " "TTB" a lot, a little, anywhere in between".. . My point is, and what I have said all along, is that when a ball is coming at you 95+mph you basically are just thinking about getting the barrel to the ball...very non-technical I know..

Do they really flatten their barrels as a result of their "style" or is it more related to their preference to the location of pitches the like to swing at (high ball vs low ball hitters)?
Flatten was a bad use of the English language. As some guys "load" the barrel is more vertical then others. All of them will flatten for a pitch up in the zone but the actual angle at launch will be different because of where they started..that was my point. That may dictate which pitches they prefer..

Sure, when you stride forward don't rotate your hips (rear hip) forward...move the rear hip linearly until the start of your swing rotates towards the ball. "Linear to rotational".

EDIT: Although I think I know where it can become confusing. You're thinking of the "Nike Swoosh" depiction of the barrel path itself that results after the hitter has committed to the rotational part of the hips usage after their linear movement forward...

...that part is most definitely "rotational to linear". (y)
Got it, yes i was focused on hands and swing, not move. thanks.

You could've posted the clip I found in 2 seconds with a google search. Instead you post something that fits your M.O. I said it before - I realized I was using my obliques incorrectly and I'm guessing you are as well.
