Hi Ron Lol

I've been reading through this thread and all the back and forth, her is my take on the AROD demo. I think what missing from the demo is that AROD does swing down or taking his hands down to the ball. Obviously he doesn't chop at the ball like in the demo, so that is misleading, but it is a feeling that he is trying to produce. So in a sense he is correct, but he should state it as a feeling. I don't necessarily think that he is intentionally trying to turn the barrel either in his game swing. I think he understands how the hands and body have connection in the swing. I'm not technically savvy so excuse me. Which naturally turns the barrel to the ball. I picture it as he is swinging down or takes a direct downward path with his hands. But as the body turns and tilts it creates a turn of the barrel. Example would be: the body is the tilted farris wheel turning, The hands take a downward path initially into the turning wheel which produces the barrel turn and bath path to the ball. Make sense?

I don’t think of TTB at all in swing mechanics. Just like separation. They are reactions to a proper sequence in the swing. If your hands are in sequence with the right ‘intent’(SB would love this sentence 😑) TTB just happens. If the body loads in sequence and balance separation just happens. Make sense? Lmk if it doesn’t.

Agreed but it's not what is on the right:

Its not the same because on the left he's seeing a moving ball to drive somewhere. What you see, gets related to the brain which fires the proper movement of the body. On the right, he is simply thinking a still ball sitting in space of where contact would be.

Of course the bat loops. How can it not unless the swing ends at the knees (I have two on my 10U rec team that do this. Ack!!! Help!!!) Maybe that is what you are saying.

When people say "No Loop", I read that as the low point of the swing / bat is never below the ball. You'll get on plane, then through, then up. Ideally not below the ball then up, then through the ball.

True, the right is isolating what his hands are doing , there's no sequence in that swing, no stretch, stiff wrist... just the hands. When its part of the entire process (on the left), it looks much different.

I would say I agree with this statement

The more and more I see it, the more the pros make sense. Can be misleading though when it's isolated without proper sequence.

I did misunderstand TM in the beginning as well because I was looking at isolated movements, I do understand what he's trying to teach regarding TTB... but IMO it's a "no teach"

Cool since you started this thread, can we now end it since you seem to have come to a conclusion? :sneaky:

I can see why the demo is very misleading to the avg. person with no experience at all and I think that is the gripe. In the demo, there is no rotation of anything whatsoever which is not realistic. if you take what he is demoing though and apply sequence and rotation if think you would probably be close to the game swing. IMO
