My DD seems to have a developed a little bit of bat drag. Back elbow is leading the hands a little. Her lead arm is barring, I asked her to leave the lead arm a little bent and to rotate the triangle. I'm hoping this well help the hands catch up instead of dragging behind. I am wondering if concentrating on the scap load a little more as well will help keep the back elbow back. Thoughts?

Sometimes telling the batter to turn the rear bicep to face the pitcher can help. Its hard to drag the arms with the rear bicep facing the pitcher.

Swing from yesterday..

I know sequence is still off.. I like to address her "squishing the bug" and extension. Thoughts?

On a very very positive note.. She was able to recognize and react to a really good change up in last nights game. One she was able to check her swing on a change up that started in the strike zone but dropped out...really great pitch by the pitcher, and two she was able to get a piece of another great change up, awkward swing, but she was fooled and adapted enough to get a piece. This is new for her, guaranteed strikeout in the past.

the barrel turn is being started with the rear upper arm externally rotating. Need to get bat handle turned with forearms. Keep at it.

Not here.
Quickly looked at video. DD needs to 'turn the barrel' with her hands. DD loads up her elbow(raising elbow above shoulders). Right now DD is dropping/slotting elbow and rotating body. Not really turning the barrel with the hands.

Thanks Butter and RD. I want to be able to identify this as well. What do I need to look for. I posted a video of Pujois below...it seems like his elbow drops as well, I am not seeing his hands rotating the barrel initially.

I am not being argumentative, just need to know how to identify so I can correct it myself.

When Pujols elbow moves the barrel is coming out of its tipped position.

You would be amazed what this handset can do for you. It really simplifies the upper body. In my experience nothing helps a kid feel there hands/forearms more then putting them in their neckslot and have them laser the ball!
