I found this clip today and I wanted to share in an earlier Riseball discussion.

At the time Michelle Smith was known as a riseball pitcher.

Im sure its just the video but she looks to be about 20 ft away from the plate!

I'm sure this video is from 40 ft away. And then release from about 35/36 ft away/ So yeah she is on top of the hitter.

Note that the ball is dropping going through the zone and the catcher pushes the glove upwards (even though the ball trajectory is moving down).

I wish the ball markers were darker. A little hard to see.

Check out that batters swing. It's not DBSF. More like SFSF. Start flat swing flat.

noticed the swing right away too - initially, the batter looks way late, but looking at it more, it may just be b/c she's so far under it. If you notice, she starts her load at pitch release, and while it looks like she's trying to be a RH slap hitter, she somehow gets enough bat speed going to possibly hit it square IF she was on plane with the pitch.
