Why are the opposing coaches complimenting her catching if she isn't catching? I got confused. Where do they see her catch is she isn't playing?
I understand that confusion. The one game over the weekend she did catch, an opposing player chatted with her, admired her blocking. And the day before (in a school game) the ump came over to the bench after the game and gave her high praise. Another coach sought her out to compliment her swing and hitting. I'm not saying she's great at all, there are things to improve on. It just seems she gets a lot of compliments from other coaches. That's happened a few times over the years. I guess I'm just pointing that out so you know she isn't in over her head.

Looking back at your OP two tournaments and two games in the field if you had 4 GG and she played one pool game behind the plate of the 4 then the other games were bracket play then NO you have nothing to complain about and no reason to pull her.
If this is the same team as fall ball and the coach saw both of them it sounds like they have picked a primary and a backup and your DD is the backup. It also sounds like she is on a school team? Is she primary or backup there?
If she is getting two or three games a week as a backup catcher that's not the end of the world but it should motivate her to do better. I would ask if she hits better the the primary catcher but doesn't seem to matter if she is DH every game coach must like her bat.
I disagree with you when it comes to a 14B team. The coach should get the players into the games. Bracket play should not turn into the same players playing the entire time at 14B. Maybe if this was the state tournament or a qualifier or something but at the random 14B May Day Hitfest tournament get your players into the game.

Thank's for the clarifying for me. I mean no offense, I'm trying to put myself in her coach's spot and figure out why this might go on if I was the coach.
I guess it just depends on several factors including number of players, time between games, her ability to play other positions, etc (in Texas in July it's almost impossible to play two or three games behind the plate in a row without endangering their health). Who is the backup 1B or 3B. If it was me sure I would have some kind of rotation system maybe where she could play a game at C, then one at 1B then one at 3B so basically each player only sits one game but I don't think you should demand a coach run his team that way or quit. If it's not working for you look for guest playing opportunities and change teams next year.
You lost me. What is 4 GG? And you think between two tournaments, only two games on the field is acceptable? At 14B? There really is no back up at 1B and 3B because those players don't move. Especially 1B dad is AC. 3B sometimes a pitcher will play there but rarely. Yes my daughter is primary catcher on her school team. You can see she is just tight and not relaxed on this team. One player was injured and SCARED to tell coach. I already picked up a guest play opportunity for my daughter and possibly am moving her to another team.
