How should a glove fold?

So Cal
Can you explain dual hinge?

A single-hinge glove will have a single fold line across the palm. A dual-hinge will have one fold line at the base of the thumb, and another at the base of the pinky. A well-broken-in dual-hinge glove will be flexible across the palm, but the majority of the movement will be at the two fold lines.

EDIT: If you close your hand thumb tip to index finger tip, this can be accomplished with zero movement in the joint at the base of the thumb - this is single-hinge. If you bring your thumb tip and pinky tip together, there is movement at the base of both thumb and pinky - this is dual-hinge. Smaller hands tend to do better with single-hinge.

So when I first started with upper end gloves - I totally had no idea how to build a pocket in a glove - which has made a huge difference on how my DD fields -

BV1929/Optimus this is a picture of my DD's old BV1929-L on the left, with her new custom Optimus with a properly broken in pocket on the right - having a proper pocket is so important in a glove so the ball sticks - I would see sooo many balls batted to her that would pop out of the pocket and in front of her instead of fielding it cleanly.

Fortus/22/Optimus

This is a Fortus (blue) next too a 22 series with a proper pocket and my DD's Optimus at about 75% broke in - the Fortus is broke in the same way, but doesn't have the leather integrity of the other two gloves. Now the Fortus is a GREAT glove for younger kids - my DS has used that glove exclusively from 8 years old but the easier to break in comes with a lower lifespan of the glove.

You can see on the back shot of this 22, that the glove almost has a hump, its never layed flat, and stored in a very specific way to maintain the pocket

Hopefully this helps some.. I'll try to elaborate some when im not exhausted.. :)

It looks like the fortus you don't have creased in the hinge. Is this correct?

From Drakemir's pics, this is a great example of the dual-hinge break I described above...

Based on these photos....It looks like I might have gotten the break in right on my son's Venci Junior. It is only a 10" glove so it might not have the same effect.
