OK, I just got done at the orthopedist's and here's the news from the appointment. I got there at a quarter till 8 this morning. I got called back to her office and they took my cast off my arm. They said that they needed more x-rays, more MRI photos and they wanted a CT scan of my elbow. I was carted to imaging and they ran their tests. We go right back up to her office we waited about 15-20 minutes and the orthopedist comes into the office and she breaks down my injury and injuries that were missed. She tells me I need surgery and I should have had surgery a week ago. I'm going to be getting plates and screws installed in my arm and she's going to scope my elbow and clean out my damaged ligaments and cartilage in my elbow. She doesn't think there is anything wrong with the elbow structurally...which is good news. When asked about surgery, my orthopedist said that if everything's okay with me and my my mom, I can be operated on Friday and we can do the pre-op labs today. She will call up a lab tech to draw blood so they can do their thing. We set up my pre-op interview for Wednesday. I was told that I'll be in the hospital overnight Friday and should be discharged sometime Saturday afternoon. Mom and I are currently in the car heading back home. My arm in a splint and is in a sling. I'm ready to get operated on and get my arm to healing. I should be in a cast about 8 weeks post op and will be getting physical therapy. Also, the doctor recommended me hire a coach. We talked softball and she was telling us how she just had to operate on her daughters knee where she blew out her ACL. I feel very at ease with this doctor...so I'm looking forward to having my surgery, Friday.
