I am the parent. :)
2 rules things happened in the game yesterday.
Situation 1:
Runner on 3rd, batter walks. 3rd base coach wants her to keep going to 2nd. Batter-runner stops on 1st then jumps off the base 10 feet or so and stops. PU calls the batter-runner out. Everyone on our Team is...
This is a Rec league and doesn’t affect our family but I see some blow back coming.
In hindsight we shouldn’t have had a guest player but it sort of happened because some injured players were able to play so at game time we had 11 players, we might have had 8 so no one better have an Issue with...
According to 11 YO DD she is 4’ 12” and 90 pounds, she is currently swinging a 30/20 Xeno. She occasionally hits the ball over the OFs heads but has never hit the fence. Our fences are pretty far out, I have never seen a player hit it. I need to measure it someday but it is not 220.
She does...
For some reason DD’s Team is enamored with this. Our league allows a courtesy runner for the P or C at any time, the last batted out is the runner.
Besides being disorganized and slowing the game down they are taking our better athletics off the field.
I am going to talk to the coach about...
We have a few Teams in our club and I somehow know 70% of the players, all the coaches know my DD and it seems like most the parents do to. They all cheer her on, a lot of nice people.
Sometimes our parents wonder what Team I am routing for, I am not sure sometimes either when we play Teams...
DD was pitching the most for her Team and leading off until she got hurt. I wasn’t too worried about it because I know they have players to take her place and so far so good.
Same with fielding, they have players that can replace her on the field. What happened, which I did not think of, is...
11YO DD locked herself in her room and cried for an hour yesterday because she is out for a month with a broken toe, she feels like she is letting her Team down.
After she settled down we discussed it and I think she will come off this injury better then she was before, I am not sure she is...
DD currently has:
Severs Disease
Migraines (Working on it)
Banged up nose (having a little troubling breathing)
Now a broken toe (Since the toe is purple she is off to the doctor)
We have a few players injured and have asked to sit out for a little bit, DD keeps saying OK I will play. One...
I wouldn’t call it an all-star Team but DD’s Rec. League combined players from a few Teams to play a C level tourney Memorial Day weekend during the middle of the season. I would be surprised if anyone who asked to play didn’t get to but I do not know.
I think the 12 player Team has 15...
DD is on a roll pitching this year so far, strikeout total is way up and her walks are way down. The key to whole thing is she is not comfortable throwing yet because she hasn’t been able to practice and is just throwing strikes.
She has never been fast but you can see she is thinking too much...
Nothing to do about anything but we had a good umpire at last night’s game, 12u Rec.
They arrived before the game and checked the field out. Walked around kicking the pitching plate and all the bases to make sure everything was firmly in pace. They visually checked the entire field.
3rd...
We lost today in a close game but our parents seem to get it. We were the home Team and the SS, 3rd and LF from the other Team all received claps and compliments from our side for good plays. We received two thumbs up and some smiles.
We will get them next time.
I need help with 2 game called over questions.
1) Home Team is up 1-0 in the 7th. The visiting Team scores 3 runs and the game is called. What is the final score of the game?
2) Home Team is up 5-0 in the 7th. The visiting Team scores 3 runs and the game is called. What is the final score...
DD’s SB Teams never win, I calculated it and she has a <5% winning percentage over the last 2 years.
After a rough opening day they had a great game last night and are 1 and 1. What was great about it was every player contributed in the win. If you are a coach that gives out game balls you...
Runner stealing Home, DD is the pitcher. DD catches the ball, gets knocked back a few feet by the runner and drops the ball. Runner was called safe because she dropped the ball. There was nothing malicious on the runner’s part but the ball appeared to be in DD's possession but it was a bang...
This is the 7th Team DD has been on in her Rec. League, she has always been at least a sort of pitcher.
Tonight was the 1st time she was the opening day starter so we were excited about that and still are.
Her line was 17K, 3 BB, 1HBP, 1 Hit.
Sounds good until you know she pitched 4 innings...
11YO Player just started playing last fall and she was overpowered by some pitchers. Her dad has been working with her and she is choking up 2” or 3” and hitting it pretty good. Bat is a 29/19 and I think it is close to what she should be swinging.
I am not sure if I should recommend another...
