FR,
She looks pretty good at 8 months out. The IR looks pretty good to me. I don't know if I would worry to much about the arm being too straight right now.
As you can see she has a little leap without the drag in there. I'm not sure how others would say to fix that but I would say to have...
This is basically what I started my 5 year old DD out with. I have to keep it really simple.
1. Started with this: Turn the barrel (showing her the hand pivot point at her back shoulder. Turning the bat down and rearward opposite 2nd baseman.)
2. Added this: Use your rear leg as you pull...
Thanks eddieq. That is what I thought, but I could see an inexperienced coach and team not properly appealing R1. When is it too late to do a dead ball appeal on R1? I'm assuming when the ball is put in play during the next half inning.
Please let me know the ruling on this just so I know if it ever happens. This is not something that actually happened but something I dreamed up.
Situation:
1 out
R1 on 3rd
R2 on 1st
Scenario:
Batter hits fly ball to right field. R1 leaves base before ball is caught and runs through and...
Frozen Rope and KenB
In regards to the stride length:
I'm with FrozenRope on this one. You absolutely can stride too far. You CAN NOT push off too hard though. There is a difference.
I view the stride as how far you stretch your plant foot out once you have pushed off. If you stretch your...
Good, now we got that figured out. :)
Here is a photo from BoardMember about the grip.

Now that you have the grip and tape right you should start seeing the spin resembling in the gear in this post...
PC,
Maybe I don't understand your post. Most of the time I don't. Are you saying that the tape is oriented correctly here for a peel fastball? I'm assuming that is what she is trying to learn. If she is working on a turn over drop then she has it correct. If peel fastball then not. Maybe...
The back leg looks much better, but you need to work on the plant foot when landing asap. She is landing at a 90 degree angle to the power line. A 45 degree angle is the safest for the knee and ankle. She looks like she is going to roll her ankle.
Boomers,
I would also like to know why the tape is sideways. Is this intentional? I think the release looks right but I'm wondering why you are not using the tape on the ball correctly to see the proper fastball spin.
