Since we've been in TB, we haven't had a "team mom." Instead, we've had a Team Admin...he or she does all of the off-the-field, behind-the-scenes stuff: manning the table at tryouts, keeping the books, finding and coordinating fundraisers, manage all of the team communication, and...well, the list is kind of endless. The point of the Team Admin is for the Coaches to concentrate on all of the on-the-field activities of the team and not have to worry about everything else. I spent the last one and a half seasons as our team's admin and there truly is a lot involved. In our case, I also found and signed us up for all of our friendlies and tourneys. The head coach didn't want to deal with it and I only consulted with him when I registered for tourneys.
Some head coaches are much more hands-on and don't want their Team Admin to take on all of this stuff, so in the end, it's all up to him or her!
