My twin's 14u team seemed like a brand new team during the first few practices in August. With five from the teams original 12u (one of my girls was on the original 12u team), three from another (including one of my girls), and two pair from two different team, they looked like a group of girls who were just trying to play softball together.
They played their first games in a tournament this weekend. They were run ruled in all three pool play games Friday and Saturday, it looked terrible, we parents wondered what was going to happen. Today, seeded 6 they had a rematch with a team that beat them 15-0 in a 2 1/2 inning game on Saturday. What a difference, today they won 7-1. Everything they did wrong on Saturday, they did right today. They then played the #2 seed team, who beat them 11-1 Friday night. My girls' team lost to the #2 seed, 8-7. Not bad, they were that close to playing in the championship game.
Today they became a team, it was amazing to watch.
