yeah, the girls prob don't think about it either, tbh. that's why I'm here! ;-)My kid is a position player and I have never once thought about any of this... I am more worried about her fielding,hitting and throwing mechanics..eg things she (with my help) can control.

Right..so chill
I think adding an additional 3' to the rubber might create a little more movement on the curve, but it won't help the rise. Also, the ball will slow down even more in that last three feet. The reason it was moved from 40 to 43 was the games were 1-0 snooze fests.
Seriously, bring your pitching machine back to 46' and see how much easier it is to time.
