My DD won't even go out in the front yard to do a 20 minute spin practice (spins only - no motion or hard throwing) without sliders on. She'd never think of actually playing w/o them.
I had a situ on my TB team a few years ago where a 16 yr old would show up to practice inappropriately dressed up top. Revealing low cut shirts, etc. Inappropriate, in my view, for a kid that age at any time, but especially inappropriate to practice in. I had hoped, after about 2 practices, a teammate would say something, but no one did. Awkward as it was, I had to tell her dad to get her appropriate practice attire. Turns out, he had told her before, but she wouldn't listen. I had to tell her, which was beyond awkward. However, a female co-coach of mine told me that it was right thing to do, and probably the one of many weird deals like that I'd face.
Even worse was the LL mom who would umpire games in Daisy Dukes and thongs, but that's another story........
