You're confusing true weight with swing weight. I don't know the physics behind it but the way a bat is balanced and where/how the weight is distributed along the barrel allows the heavier RT to swing as a -9 bat even though it has a dead weight of -7 or so. However, this puts that extra mass behind the ball at contact which is one of the reasons they are so hot.

Look up MOI on bats. Pick up a bat swing it backwards. Same weight but swings lighter. Don't know if that's a good comparison lol but someone once told that to me and its stuck with me. I got into a big argument with a batting coach at one of our practices who came just to scout more of our girls to come to him. He didn't like the -9 or -10 and said -12 is the way to go, then preaching why corked bats hit better in MLB. Long story short he never came back no one liked what he was trying to teach anyway.
