Not dense. Good question. If you load slow and early you are waiting for the ball. If you load as late as possible you are not waiting you are reacting. Does that make sense?

She loads pretty late. When does she get forward? Her gather is early. I think that adds headaches. I prefer a smaller sagittal load. But I have taught the hands back against the knee also. Like it. The MAJORITY of fastpitch hitters hit like this girl? Nope. Alo would be a hands back against the knee.

Actually none of those would have been HRs where my dd plays college ball. She plays at a stadium that was constructed 4yrs ago. 220 down the lines 235 in the gaps. 240 CF. At sea level. With plenty of ocean wind. No cheapies for my dd. Gotta square it up.

we do a lot of take swing to get the hand and body conditioned to launch the barrel

Here's a video that shows her with a moving ball and was having some timing issues. What I saw in her live at bats, was she didn't have a consistent position to launch the barrel from. She was doing something very similar to what Richard was talking about in the video in #169
