So DD switched to taper grip about 10 months ago because I wanted her to try it. She liked it so e kept them on both bats. One is the hard plastic type you tape over and the other is rubbery -hard to slip over type. She likes both, maybe rubbery one a little more.
So we are visiting family back east where we have gloves, bats and balls. The bat here doesn't have a taper and she hits good with it but says it hurts her lead hand and by the redness of her palm, I believe her. So I quickly remedied the problem with a homemade taper,
Who hits with taper? Have you ever tried going back to no taper? Is she doing something wrong mechanically to cause pain?
