Thanks Chris. If I had thought that was not obvious I would have mentioned it originally. Thanks for picking me up.

San Rafael, Ca
CO. I agree with you there are 3 Dixon patterns which are developmental that you go through and can jump in and out of, arm only, upper body and arm anmd total body whip. what you would like to do is consistently learn the total body whip pattern and not bounce back and forth between the patterns.

Now the golf case of 1 v 2 plane patterns is a different thing. These are BOTH very different swings/patterns/postures which are both highest level, but with extermemly different pieces/fits.

1 plane is swing around, shoulder turn pwering bat.

2 plane is swing down of arms blending with turn of hips without active shoulder turn, swing plane determined by blend of arm/hip planes.

in both cases, the result can be consistent contact, but in bioth cases, this suffers if incompatible pieces are mistakenly inserted in the pattern.

so a swing is not a swing. swings are pattern based and there is a variety.

until the pattern filter is applied, communicating/understanding the swing is nearly impossible.
