Stupid Storms!

We haven't had rain for ~2 weeks. Show up at the field at 7:30 for our 9am scheduled game yesterday (3 games pool sat + single elimination sun). Rain starts at 8. They send everyone home around 10 saying keep phone handy. We do a team breakfast, then some of us walk around the mall (seeing LOTS of softballers... another local tournament was delayed too).

Pool play started back at 4. Every team was getting two pool plays to lead into Sunday's bracket. Fields in actually very good shape. Our team plays LIGHTS OUT defense only giving up two hits in the first game.

We play our second game and just aren't sharp. End up losing 6-1. Some teams scheduled for 2nd pool game at 9 Sun morning. We're scheduled for Noon. Rain starts at 9AM. Text from coach at 11:30 that they've cancelled the tourney.

I feel your pain. Our Seattle/Tacoma metros championship was just cancelled. They were to have single elimination today because they cancelled yesterday. No play today, either. Now they are looking at July 4th weekend for the 12's and mid week for the 14's. That's going to be a huge conflict for many, but what do you do when mother nature doesn't comply?
