Sometimes you just never know

[Quake Softball]

We are a very young and inexperienced first-year 14U team. Yesterday we played two games against two teams from the same organization. One 2nd year 12U team and one against a really good first-year 14U team.

So, I figured we would go 1-1. Which we did, but not the way I thought.

We hit the ball well against the 12U team, but played HORRIBLE defense and lost 17-10. Then against, the 14U team, which has 2 pitchers who throw around 58 mph, we got down 3-0 and then came back and won 7-5!!! My DD pitched the game of her life!!!

This game never ceases to amaze me. The way we played in the first game no one would have ever thought we would even hang with the second team, but we did. My girls really showed me a lot yesterday.

Maybe, they walked in thinking that they had already won, the game against the younger team.

You have a very good opportunity to talk and talk about what occurred.

Yeah, we had that conversation yesterday. And that seems to be the case. We talked about having to show up and play OUR best no matter who the opponent is.
