Situation R3, batter hits a fly ball deep in to OF. OF drops the ball and runner scores.

Can you give the batter a Sac Fly if you reasonably assume the runner would have scored on a tag up or is it just a bad bread for the hitter, but a good one for the team?

If it was deep enough for the runner to score if caught, then its a Sac Fly, 1 RBI, and E8 for allowing the batter to reach.

There must be less than 2 out.

It is a MF8 (Sac) if you believe the runner would have been able to tag up and score.

It is a sacrifice, just like if it had been a bunt to move runners and there is a bad throw or the throw is mishandled.
