This is the time that some players leave their team for a variety of reasons- playing time, losing record, quality of coaching, etc. Since most teams have already received payment in full, the new team will likely take them on, at a greatly reduced price—-especially if it is a much needed position or a great player.

However, I’d watch what I said and wouldn’t get too involved in the rumor mill. Tensions are being built towards this family, but what happens if she does come back?

I avoid talking about team gossip, with other team families. Little (really nothing) good comes from such gossip.

No apology necessary. Having a coach's DD communicate rather the coach is more than pet peeve territory, it is completely inappropriate.
