Game day is not the time for hitting and pitching mechanic adjustments. That's what practice and private time is for. Game time is exam time and yes you would be better off keeping your mouth closed and let the player figure it out.

Most teams have rules with regards to "parent coaching" during games. If you want to discuss softball during the game I would take that player out of the game so they can go discuss softball with their parents in the stands.

If your coach knows little about pitching he should add you as an assistant coach so you can work out those issues in practice.

Sometimes the best; but rarely used, method would be to let the catcher call the game based on what the pitcher was doing. A lot less coaching is needed when the girls are figuring out n their own what is working. Blasphemy to many head coaches but you'll end up having more success in your battery when you stop trying to haul hay with a camaro.
