Our minors is 10U. But, I "think" that they are allowed to pitch a total of 9 innings per calendar week. And you are right it can be 6 on Friday, and and 6 on Monday and then 3 another night.

I agree that it is more to develop other pitchers, but I don't see that happening.

They only play a couple of games per week.

Now, for All Stars the number of innings changes, again.

Our league had a 3 inning per game rule for the 9/10/11 division and the 8/9/10 division. Mostly it was so a team couldn't just pitch a single pitcher every game.

Little League pitching rules are straight out of baseball, it's pretty bad. Ever watch that little league "world series" they have on ESPN every year? It's like watching bad rec ball.

anybody no the current rule (2012) for pitching limits.....
Depends on the age group:
Minors: More than one inning pitched=1 day of rest. 6 innings max per game and week (Sun-Sat.)
Majors: More than one inning pitched=1 day of rest. 9 innings max per day and 18 max per week (Sun-Sat.)
Jr's/up: More than four innings pitched=1day of rest. 10 innings max per day and 30 max per week (Sun-Sat.)

Last year all stars for 12U. Pitcher could throw 2 innings, no rest needed. If she threw 1 pitch in the 3rd inning, she needed a game and a day rest.
