At some point in competitive softball, 2B, SS and 3B become closed to left handed players. All other positions are fair game.

First base, right field, center field, second, and catcher (in that order), but many coaches will only put a lefty at first base or right field. I have never seen a lefty in left field, but I don't see why it can't be done.

Why? IMO, lefties have a distinct advantage at C and LF only. No advantage/disadvantage in CF or P. Slight disadvantage in RF and 1B. And distinct disadvantage at 2B, SS, and 3B.

First, outfield, pitcher, catcher. Our team's two lefties play first and outfield. They've both had some pitching lessons, but neither pitches in games.
