i want say it will help . but both my lefties are outfeild..we are 16u . and both play left and center and have had one throw out runnersgoing home 3 different times ...
I agree with Lou, we faced a team last year with 3 leftie pitchers.
It is a tough adjustment when the girls are used to seeing release point of
RH pitcher
First base, right field, center field, second, and catcher (in that order), but many coaches will only put a lefty at first base or right field. I have never seen a lefty in left field, but I don't see why it can't be done.
Why? IMO, lefties have a distinct advantage at C and LF only. No advantage/disadvantage in CF or P. Slight disadvantage in RF and 1B. And distinct disadvantage at 2B, SS, and 3B.
First, outfield, pitcher, catcher. Our team's two lefties play first and outfield. They've both had some pitching lessons, but neither pitches in games.
