I have seen a few posts here that describe the 'Landing Foot Touchdown' as the 'Stride foot heel plant'. If a pitcher lands on her stride foot heel first, and then the rest of the foot touches down, I think this can be considered unsafe in most cases. If the stride is quite short and not aggressive at all, this might be OK but I doubt it.

The pitcher should come down on the ball of the foot with the foot slightly extended, slight bend in the knee and then the rest of the foot comes down. This is how your leg is designed to operate to serve as the 'shock absorber' when you run. I also think it is the best for your cleats to grab the ground better, especially with the rubber cleats.

Others might teach this differently.

Just thought I would mention this.

Hal:)
