imo hip/shoulder separation isn’t something to strive for. It’s a result and a checkpoint of good sequential loading. the degree of H/S separation can be minimal or maximal. What matters is the closing of the gap of separation at contact.

I think a better indicator is the hands and hips relationship. Do the hands get ahead or behind the hips.
