One of the coaches had our team doing a hitting drill tonight where they did side toss....but for some reason decided to to do it "rapid fire". As fast as they could swing and get back..another ball was tossed. I struggle to see the benefit.....especially since my daughter tweaked her wrist trying to stop her swing to get back for the next pitch. She's now in bed with Ice on her wrist. I cant find a value to this drill, and it seems like it could be a high risk drill. That's a lot of torque that they try to stop and reset.

I don't think there is a value to it. It can be fun for some players, though. How old are the young ladies? How many tosses were there? I did 3 balls, one at a time, the few times I did use it.

After the fourth or so toss mechanics go out the window. Had a parent who was a "former coach" say it puts them in game situations being tired. Not!
